Working as a CNA is a vital role that puts you on the front line, interacting directly with residents to monitor their health and promptly communicate any changes to the nursing staff. It’s an ideal position for anyone who finds satisfaction in serving others and is motivated to engage in meaningful, hardworking endeavors. As a CNA, every day you have the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life, whether it’s through small gestures or significant responsibilities.

If accepted into the CNA Training Program:

  • BHI Senior Living will fully sponsor the tuition of the program, which covers all materials and testing.
  • Upon acceptance into the class, you will be employed as a full-time Nurse Aide at one of BHI’s communities, earning a rate of $17 per hour. Satisfactory completion of the training program is required to maintain your employment status.
  • The training program consists of 105 hours, including 35 hours of classroom instruction followed by 75 clinical hours, as mandated by the state of Indiana.
  • After completing the clinical portion, you are eligible to take the state certification exam, which must be passed within 120 days of completion. The exam is comprised of 100 written test questions and 4 randomly selected skills.
  • Successfully passing the certification will lead to a promotion to CNA with a wage increase to $21 per hour. Although retesting opportunities will be provided, if necessary, our primary goal is for you to pass on your first attempt.

Please note that the training program demands active engagement, in-class participation, group exercises, skills labs, and self-study, similar to any other educational experience.

While the program requires dedication, we will provide the necessary support and resources to ensure your success. Our aim is to cultivate exceptional CNAs who deliver the quality care our residents deserve.
